SQLite is my go-to database. I need a good reason to pick a different database for a project.

I have experience with MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Realtime Database. I never thought I’ll have a favorite database, but here we are. :) It’s small, fast, reliable, and recommended by Library of Congress.
